CCTV

CCTV is installed at Westbay Flats  to help provide a safe and secure environment for  residents,  visitors, and property. The  CCTV is used for the purposes of crime prevention, public safety, and the protection of individuals and assets.

What data we need

We collect video footage of individuals captured by CCTV cameras. This may include:

  • Visual images of individuals
  • Date and time of recording
  • Location of the camera 

No audio is recorded. 

Why we need it

The CCTV is used for the purposes of crime prevention, public safety, and the protection of individuals and assets. 

Where we store your data

CCTV footage is stored securely on an approved cloud-based system. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only, and systems are protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures. 

How long will we keep your information

We review our data retention periods regularly and will only hold your personal data for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as required by law (we may be legally required to hold some types of information), or as set out in any relevant contract we have with you.

CCTV footage is stored for 30 days.

What is the legal justification

Our legal basis for processing CCTV footage is Legitimate interests. 

Sharing your information

We may share CCTV footage with: 

  • Law enforcement agencies for the investigation of criminal activity
  • Legal representatives in the case of claims or disputes
  • Regulatory bodies where required by law

Your right of access

You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
